These past two months have been a blur and it pretty much felt like the busy holiday season before Covid. I had to go through my phone pics to remind myself……what happened exactly? You know, since I last blogged.
My 53rd Birthday – Dad and me at dinner.
Thanksgiving at My Brother’s.
My sister helped decorate my brother’s Christmas tree while the Niners played on in the background and the dog hung out in the foreground.
I Saw a Really Cool George Michael Tribute Band.
Seriously-this guy is so good. Dude CAN SING!
I performed at the Marsh in San Francisco – Twice.
I did an excerpt of my solo show “All the Great New Things to Come”.
I only slept in my own bed like three days in the month of December because I was cat sitting the whole time.
I cat-sat for three indoor cats and fed two outdoor strays. Unfortunately, one of the indoor cat’s health declined while I was there. I prayed and prayed that Bushy Mama would hang in there until her parents got back. And she did. During my last night with her, I slept with one eye open while petting her. I wanted her to be comfortable. After her parents arrived, she passed away the next day. R.I.P. Bushy Mama. Kitty Hospice is never easy and unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time this has happened to me while cat sitting. I talked about this very topic in one of the first solo pieces I ever wrote titled, “Cat Nanny 911!“
Christmas Time in San Francisco

My sister and I had our annual holiday visit to Union Square in San Francisco. This time we decided to stay the night at the Hilton. We were not impressed. That hotel needs a major upgrade. But we had fun. Union Square is also where I was called a tourist by a bike messenger, which got me all triggered because….
I AM NOT A TOURIST
I have become obsessed with Ancestry.com lately. I found a receipt of the funeral expenses of my Great Grandpa Ed who died in 1939. It was charged to My Great Grandma Katie (my dad’s grandmother), who at the time, was living at 630 Mason Street in San Francisco. Just a couple of blocks up from where I was called a tourist. Irony.
Christmas Eve at Great Aunt Marty’s
She is my grandma’s youngest sister on my mom’s side of the family and she lives in San Leandro- just 20 minutes from me. She was born in Oakland and grew up there. So, tell me again how I am tourist. I dare you.
Christmas Day 2023 – Meet Scarlett
Did I mention my niece had a baby on November 22nd? Just three days after my birthday. Twinsies!
And finally…..
Happy New Year!

It wouldn’t be New Years without seeing my favorite band The Neon Playboys!
And somewhere during all this, I got a cold,
Happy New Year!
