Happy month of May!
My show on Monday night in Berkeley went well. It’s always such a relief when that happens, especially when I am doing new material. It encourages me and I think, “hey I am pretty good at this, maybe I should keep going.” It’s so easy to feel discouraged. I think discouragement is the number one enemy of creating art.
It’s a lot of work creating a solo show, so I treated myself to a couple of days on the coast and I got lucky.
LUCKY

They don’t call Pacifica, California the fogbelt for nothing. They even have an annual Fog Fest, but this week it was nothing but blue skies. You may wonder why I take that gamble and plan trips to the fog capitol of the Bay Area. It’s because I like cooler weather and the smell of ocean air. I can’t get enough of it. The minute I checked into my hotel room and opened the sliding glass door I felt my back relax. Crashing waves is the best sound ever. I even fall asleep to “8 Hours of Ocean Waves” Sleep Music on Spotify.
The lady who was checking in before me told the front desk that it was her birthday and she was treating herself and had booked the best room in the place. I don’t think she has left her room in three days.
I, on the other hand, went to look for a Geocache or two.
FOUND IT.
Okay, I forgot to take a picture of the Geocache, but I passed this bird on the hike up. I underestimated how long the hike would be and I was pretty tuckered out afterwards. According to my Fitbit I clocked in over 19,000 steps today.
So I relaxed in my room and then later on overindulged in some fine dining before taking some sunset pics.
I don’t want to leave tomorrow. But the good news is, I am already getting ideas for the next chapter of my show. My brain is making room for more ideas. And so the cycle begins again.
Til next time.
