And in family tree news, as I continue to research the descendants of this mysterious woman that my Great Grandma Katie called “Grandma Ellen” (but really wasn’t her grandma, but her father’s cousin supposedly), I came across this headline:
A half-breeds victim? Were these the good ol’ days? With headlines like this?
It says that a man who was “half-Indian” named Dick Edwards killed a white man named Patrick Spillane. Patrick Spillane might be a descendant of “Grandma Ellen”, so this article popped up during my research.
May newspapers never go back to calling people “half-breeds” ever again.
